We've been hoarding our bottle tops and yogurt pots for this free craft session that that those budding veg growers can keep their harvests safe!! It's a drop-in session, so pop along any time and get creative!!
At our branch library in Swanley, the famous author Anne Perry is coming along to talk about her books. She'll be giving a talk on Wednesday 10th June at 7.30pm. Perry is at the top of her game with scores of crime books to her name, so if you fancy a sneak peek into how her detectives solve their mysteries, do go along. Tickets are available from Swanley library at £3.00.
16th June at 2pm sees A L Kennedy coming to talk about her latest book 'Day' which won the Costa Book Prize in 2008. Kennedy herself describes the book in this fashion 'bits of it are probably quite good, although some people have trouble with the first 50 pages or so' but most people I know who have read it have found it so rewarding. The story follows Alfie Day who was a tail gunner during World War II, but it is so much more than a war story. To go alongside her writing career, Kennedy also does stints as a stand-up comedian, so we can guarantee she'll put on a good show. We have tickets available now at a cost of £4.00.

Stella Duffy is coming to give a talk on 25th June at 7pm. her latest book 'The room of lost things' has received great reviews for its compassionate, lyrical and deeply affective exploration of the characters in a South London community centred around a dry cleaners. As well as writing, Stella acts and directs theatre, so I'm sure she'll put on a great performance for us. Tickets are available at £4.00.
