Lullingstone Roman Villa
 

Dartford Community

Discovered in 1939, Lullingstone Roman Villa is one of the best preserved Roman Villas in the country. Believed to have been built at around 100AD, the villa was a familiy home for about 300 years. With original mosaics, frescos and a bathing complex on view, Lullingstone really gives visitors an idea of what it would have been like to live there all those years ago.

Dartford Borough Museum

Housed in an impressive building of at the main entrance to Dartford’s Central Park, the Dartford Borough Museum is the best place to soak up some history of the town. As well as a permanent display telling the story of the town and its surrounding area from Prehistoric times to the present day, the museum also stages special exhibitions throughout the year. Pride of place goes to the famous Darenth Bowl, which is a priceless early Christian relic from the Anglo-Saxon period. the museum shows a side to Dartford which may otherwise have remained hidden, and is a highly recommended visit for both residents and visitors alike.

Follow the secret clues to track down the hidden treasure, whilst trekking through the farmland! The walk is ideal for pushchairs, although little legs may find the final stretch a little hard going!
